Aland21 has been designed to work in the harshest marine conditions. Its casing is made of polyester and has been strengthened with fiberglass providing it with the required mechanical robustness needed in such an aggressive environment, and without interfering with its usage.

In addition, the Aland21 is equiped with the latest in GPS navigation chipsets, GSM/GPRS communications modules, Autonomous powering devices and local wireless networks for the integration of peripheral sensors. All these elements available 24×7, 365 days of the year.

 This device comes in two models depending on how it is going to be powered.

Both models are autonomous up to 7 days in ‘adjusted working mode’.

The FARO variant is designed to be connected to the boat’s batteries using IEC60245 type wires. Power range goes from 10Vdc to 42Vdc, with surge protection (230 Vac)

This model includes an internal battery that provides autonomy of up to 56 hours.

The BALLENA model includes proprietary algorithms for consumption optimisation, lowering average consumption down to 40mw with its basic functions active.

BALLENA incorporates a solar pannel to charge its batteries to their maximum capacity in only 7 hours (of sun exposure) and providing autonomy of up to 7 days. This model guarantees that the unit works correctly independently from the status of the ship that hosts it.

GPS

  • Includes the latest technology in GPS, with very high sensitivity for the reception signal (-162 dBm).
  • It does support to the following satelites GPS/SBAS :WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS, providing a location accuracy below 2.5m
  • 50 simmultaneous channels. It also include low-power modules, very suitable for this type of application.

Communications

This device also includes a Class 10, GSM/GPRS communications module, that operates under an industrial temperature range. This module is based on ARM9, with several configurable working modes. When working in low-power mode, this device reduces its consumption down to 5mA, still enabled to use SMS.

The device also includes a IEEE 802.15.4 standard radio module, for a range of local sensors.
